After 32 years….

Retirement

This was the sign out front of the school in June….

And I’m now I have the best job in the world!

(I still get to teach science at my neighborhood school.  But now I get to sleep late and get out in time to have lunch with my husband.)

So lucky:)

5th Grade News

You and your child (and their teachers) have made it through the STAAR testing of 5th grade. We have a few students who will still be working on reading and will have a second chance on May 12th, but for most, we are done. Thank you for what you have done to support your child in reading this year.
As we approach the final weeks of school, we will still be expecting ALL of the children to read 30 minutes a night. Your child can use a digital reading log, which I’ve shared in Google Classroom. I gave the students a paper copy who prefer the old-fashioned method:) We will ask the students to keep this reading log in their homework folder so that it can be checked throughout the week. (I have to admit that I’ve been lax in checking the logs as we finish the STAAR testing.)  Here is a link to a copy you can download:  Reading Log Apr20
Check out the photos from Earth Camp:  Shutterfly  (If you need the password, ask your child.)
