This Friday afternoon (November 7, 1:00-2:00 pm) our 5th graders will hear about the opportunities at three magnet programs for middle school: Fulmore, Kealing, and Ann Richards. This time is for our students to hear about each of the schools and start thinking about what their options are for next year. You are welcome to join us in the cafeteria to learn, too. An evening session for parents will be scheduled in the near future, and I will share that information here when I get the time and location.
You can read about the magnet programs on their websites, too.

Mr. Carlson and I have already begun scheduling our parent-teacher-student conferences for the fall. The sign up sheet is right inside Mr. Carlson’s room. In 5th grade, we like to have the student attend with the parent when possible. Please contact Mr. Carlson or me to schedule your conference if you can’t get by to sign up!
Last night at Back-to-School night, we discussed the 5th grade tradition of spending three days and two nights at Camp Champions. The children are already excited and asking lots of questions. I wanted to share some resources with you that might help you and your child learn about and prepare for this fun event.
